Admission standards tend to increase each year. In general, those offered admission into the Doctoral program have substantially higher grade averages and test scores than those admitted to the Master’s program.
Although low scores may prevent admission, high scores do not guarantee admission, as many factors are considered by the faculty when evaluating an application.

The minimum GPA score for admission is 3.00 on standard 4-point scale. If evaluating faculty feel strongly about the potential of an applicant with a GPA of 2.80 – 2.99, a limited number of exceptions may be made. Evaluating faculty must submit a formal request to admit to the faculty School Chair.

The minimum GRE scores for admission are 400 (Verbal), 700 (Quantitative) and 4.0 (Analytical).
CEE continues to accept all test scores reported to us by ETS, regardless of the test date, test site or testing method (paper or electronic).

The minimum score on the current version of TOEFL is 79. The minimum score on the original electronic version is 213; and 550 on the paper-version. There are no exceptions to these minimums which are set by Georgia Tech.
International applicants who have attended a U.S. college/university for at least one academic year will not be required to provide a TOEFL score. However, a transcript from the U.S. college/university must be provided to qualify for this exemption.
